Michigan Philanthropy Today Serving Foundations & Nonprofits Throughout The Great Lakes State “We rise by lifting others.” -Robert Ingersoll All Interactive News & Resource Links Are Updated Daily This Week’s Focus: The Chronicle Of Philanthropy Community-foundation leaders are often influential players in a region’s philanthropy, and they are paid accordingly. They don’t make the million-dollar salaries awarded to the CEOs of many hospi-tals, universities, and national non-profits — no community-founda-tion leader appears to earn seven fig-ures — but many get a good deal more than the leaders of their grantee organizations. Here are the compensation figures of 28 top leaders of commu-nity foundations with at least $35 million in contributions for 2014 or 2015 (latest figures available). Compensation includes base salary, bonus, benefits, and any deferred compensation if paid out in that year. No Michigan community foundations leaders earned more than the top 40 leaders of communi-ty foundations surveyed nationwide during the 2014/2015 period.
