Basic Yoga This basic class is for anyone who wants to practice yoga. This class will include centering and breath work, postures (asanas) which warm up the body, postures that create flexibility and space in the body, and postures that create heat, strength, and energy. We will move through sitting and standing postures that will involve the entire body, and use the breath to guide the movement and create space in the body and allow the mind to relax. You will come away from the class feeling like your body and mind have been lovingly massaged. Modifications can be made for any posture. All levels are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat or towel. Instructor: Cecilia Fellin Choi Kwang Do Martial Art for Adults Choi Kwang Do (The Art For Life) is a dynamic, innovative approach to martial arts training that is recognized as one of the fastest growing martial arts in the world. It is based on traditional martial arts philosophy that emphasizes the idea of personal development being paramount, rather than sports competition. Classes provide a friendly environment to help students grow in self-discipline and self-confidence. The techniques and concepts of this art can be considered very non-traditional. Principles of modern science, derived from psychology, plyometrics, kinesiology and bio-mechanics form the basis for Choi Kwang Do. It is designed to be a devastatingly effective self-defense system that can be used in real street situations. Choi Kwang Do has been designed to enhance the student’s overall health, fitness and well-being rather than cause the injuries and damage that many competitive activities do. Choi Kwang Do Black Belt Class This class is a specifically designed comprehensive format of all Black Belt Requirements. 1st Degree Black Belts through 6th Degree Black Belts will train in a fast paced, dynamic class to increase fast twitch muscles, endurance and agility plus Black Belt syllabus. This class is mandatory for all CKD students Il Dahn and above who are serious about testing for the next Dahn. NOTE: Black belts will be required to attend at least one other CKD class per week (Tuesday or Thursday.) Please contact CE office to arrange tuition schedule. Instructor: Randall Stoddard Get Fit, Stay Fit This one-hour class is fun for all ages and fitness levels. The class features a low impact cardio workout followed by toning with hand weights.
